The Cambridge Think Tank Trust (CamTank) can be traced back to an academic community within Cambridge in 2011. It was subsequently incorporated as an independent Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) with the Charity Commission for England and Wales in 2016, and was officially renamed the Cambridge Think Tank Trust in 2025 (Charity Number 1166446).
The organization was originally founded with the aim of promoting cultural understanding and academic exchange, particularly focused on the rich traditions and perspectives of the East. Building on this foundation, while continuing its commitment to cross-cultural dialogue, CamTank expanded its focus to include public education, frontier science and technology, and the advancement of the sciences and the arts for the public benefit.
Today, CamTank carries forward its original spirit while embracing a wider global mission—serving as a platform for knowledge exchange, innovation, and meaningful engagement between East and West.
